L&K Engineering won the First Prize of “2021 Work Safety Month Manufacturer Safety Knowledge Competition” by SMNC

Established in July, 2013, Semiconductor Manufacturing North China (Beijing) Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “SMNC”) is a 12-inch advanced manufacturing process integrated circuit manufacturer jointly invested by SMIC and Beijing Municipal Government. And it has become an important manufacturing base for domestic chips. 

L&K Engineering (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. undertakes the plant power expansion project of Hengshan and Yanshan Project of SMNC. The construction covers bus procurement and installation, installation and commissioning of bus temperature measurement system, procurement and installation of bridge and cable, etc. Due to the complex construction environment of the site, there were many parallel contractors conducting frequent cross-work, and the owner was very strict in site management, so it is undoubtedly a very challenging project. 

During the project construction, L&K Engineering’s SMNC Project Management Team overcame many difficulties such as the impact of COVID-19 and short construction period, worked hard in the front construction line, and finally completed the project as scheduled. In the field safety management, the team actively cooperated with the high requirements of SMNC’s ESH department, strictly followed the safety regulations of SMNC, and conducted bundled management with the workers. The field safety management was recognized by the owner. 

June 2021 is the 20th national work safety month, with the theme of “Implementing Safety Responsibility and Promoting Safe Development”. In order to encourage manufacturers to consciously learn SMNC’s safety regulations, actively learn safety skills and improve their safety production business ability, SMNC’s ESH department invited 24 manufacturers to hold a safety knowledge competition on June 9. The competition was held in the mode of quick response, with points accumulated. The first, second and third prizes were awarded through the preliminary and final.

Before the start of the competition, all the participating manufacturers showed their attitude of “who but myself can do it?” and started the journey of answering questions with full confidence. Then they entered the tense and exciting part of quick response, and each team took part in it with all their skills. In the final part of the risky response, the manufacturers were eager to win, and players constantly broke the rules, leading to deduction. The atmosphere became more and more tense. The competitors of L&K Engineering gave answers to three questions in a row. After the fierce competition, L&K Engineering won the first prize of this competition with an absolute advantage of 30 points over the second place, and won the certificate of honor and prize awarded by the owner.

After the end of the competition, Chief Zhang of SMNC’s ESH Department made a summary of the activity, highly praised the performance of L&K Engineering in the competition, and said that all manufacturers should continue to strengthen the learning of safety knowledge, implement safety knowledge in the management of the construction site, achieve “Four No Harm”, and strive to achieve zero construction incident.
